LifeWise Exit

For business owners

Everyone is planning your exit. No one is planning what comes after.

The bankers are planning the deal. Your wealth advisor is planning the money. This is the plan for you, and for the life you'll step into when it closes.

The question

Wondering about life after the sale? That's the right question.

  • What will I actually do the Monday after closing?
  • Will I be glad I sold the thing I spent decades building?
  • What do my spouse and I want the next ten years to look like?

A deal can be perfect on paper and still land badly. These questions are answerable, and owners who answer them before the sale step into the next chapter glad they did it. Many find the decision to sell gets easier too.

The work

The LifeWise Method: a structured process that replaces the uncertainty of what's next with a chapter you're excited to start

01Discover

Where you actually are beyond the business. What you've loved, what you set aside, what you want back.

02Define

Your values, and who you are when you're no longer the owner.

03Design

Your Blueprint across eight areas of life.

04Decide

A Decision Compass for weighing the opportunities and asks that follow a sale.

Every client leaves with the LifeWise Blueprint. Your spouse or partner builds one with you.

Who you'll work with

You'll work with me, start to finish

I'm Cindy Jennings, founder of LifeWise and creator of LifeWise Exit. My work focuses on the part of a transition no one owns but everyone feels: what happens after the deal closes. I've spent over 25 years in organizational change, management consulting, and communications strategy, leading large-scale initiatives for Fortune 500 companies including Comcast, Mattel, and DIRECTV. My approach blends strategic planning with behavior change frameworks, including training in Immunity to Change.

LifeWise Exit came out of years of working with high performers who were financially prepared for change but personally unprepared for what came next. Every engagement is 1:1 with me: six months of structured work, built around your timeline and your life.

Why plan before you sign

3 in 4

Three out of four owners profoundly regret selling within a year of the deal.* Regret isn't a pricing problem. It's a planning problem.

Outcomes

What clarity made possible

Mark T. Post-exit business owner
"Cindy's program gave me the clarity I needed to embrace the next stage of my life after selling my business. My spouse and I finally have a shared vision we're both excited about."
John D. Current business owner
"I felt stuck after selling my business, but LifeWise helped me rediscover my purpose and set clear goals for the future. I finally felt comfortable saying no to consulting I didn't want to do without guilt."
Susan M. Post-exit business owner

The program

How it works

About six months

A defined arc with a defined deliverable.

1:1, via video call

From wherever you are.

Spouse or partner included

Because the next chapter is one you'll build together.

Start on your timeline

Before the deal heats up is ideal. The method meets you wherever you are.

For owners preparing a sale or succession, in the middle of one, or past one, who want the next chapter built with the same care as the business.

Common questions

Before you reach out

Do I need to have decided to sell?

No. Some clients start well before the decision. Clarity about what comes after often makes the decision itself easier, whichever way it goes.

When is the right time to start?

Twelve to eighteen months before a sale is ideal, so the plan is ready before the deal heats up. But the method works at any point, even if the wire already hit.

What do I actually walk away with?

The LifeWise Blueprint: a concrete 10-year plan across eight areas of life, not just work and money, built with tools like your Decision Compass for weighing the opportunities and asks that follow a sale.
